Too Much Contemplation Is Killing Your Growth

This is a short video I made last week, just talking about how often I see this in the vehicle wrap design world.    First off, I get it… this is your business, your baby, nobody cares as much about your business as you do.

Here’s what I’ve seen over the years:   People taking months and months, actually more like half a year or more to approve of a vehicle wrap design for their small business.

**Disclaimer/clarification** . It’s not actually about how long it takes (although that does matter)  it’s about wasting time and incurring a MASSIVE opportunity cost.   Wasting time on whether the design should have 5 or 7 bullet points, and whether the design should have 1 or 2 phone numbers.  And whether the yellow line should go across the vehicle, or should it be moved 1 inch higher.

All of these types of changes and contemplations DO NOT matter to your potential clients.   In fact – zero bullet points in your vehicle wrap design is MUCH MUCH better than having bullet points.  All bullet points do is place limits in the consumers mind as to what you do.  They do nothing to explain who you are and what you stand for – the most important things.

Back to contemplation:  Lets say you sell and install air conditioners,  new A/C units typically run $5000 to $15,000 right?   Lets say with a really great van wrap that’s friendly and professional and clean, you theoretically could be selling one of these or more a month right off of your vehicle wrap!  But instead after 9 months of hmming and hawing about the phone number moving 3 inches to the left and the bullet points, you don’t have a wrap = 9 x $5000 minimum.  That’s at least $45,000 in lost revenue and most likely A LOT more if you miss the spring and summer months and especially if one person calls you EVERY DAY from your vehicle wrap!

In summary:

DON’T:  over think, over complicate the design process.

DON’T:  complicate your vehicle wrap design with bullet points and non emotional information

DO:  take time to figure out who you are and what you stand for in an emotional sense

DO:  choose a vehicle wrap company that understands this.
