FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. What is a vehicle wrap?
A. It's a design printed onto special 3M vinyl which is then laminated and applied ("wrapped") directly onto the vehicle. It's so precise that it's often mistaken for a custom paint job.
Q. What's involved and how long does it take?
A. There are 3 parts to the process:
1. We work with you to develop the concept you'd like to convey, both in terms of image and content.
2. Once the concept and design are approved, the wrap is printed and laminated.
3. The final step is application by qualified installers.
Once the design is approved, the wrap can usually be installed in 7 to 10 business days depending on our
work load at the time.
Q. What do you charge for design work and can I provide my own design?
A. We typically charge $325 for a wrap design, which includes 6 hours of creation time plus a single (1) revision. Any further changes are charged at $75 per hour. If you have your own design capabilities, you can also supply your own design. We'll advise you on how to do this.
Q. How long will a wrapped vehicle last?
A. You can expect to get 2 - 3 years and longer, provided it's been wrapped with 3M Controltac Film and laminated.
Q. Will a wrap damage the vehicle's paintwork?
A. To the contrary, when a wrap is correctly applied and removed by a professional installer, it can actually protect the paint. The only way the paint can become damaged is if it was already chipped or damaged upon installation of the wrap or if the vehicle has been poorly repainted.
Q. Can a wrapped vehicle be taken through a carwash?
A. We recommend wraps to be hand washed to maintain life expectancy. Avoid high pressure washes because the spray can actually tear the vinyl or cause seams to lift.
Q. Can the wrap be removed and what's the effect on the paint underneath?
A. Yes, it can be removed and you're left with virtually new paint underneath.
Q. Does the entire vehicle have to be wrapped or are there other options?
A. We'll work with any budget, from as little as $99 to get you the most for your advertising dollar. You can start with just a perforated rear window and then add to it as your business grows to make the wrap complete.
Q. Who develops designs for SmartWrap?
A. It's a collaborative effort between our management team, our designers and you the customer.

Q. Who does SmartWrap installations?
A. Our installers are Fellers certified. Fellers is the largest wrap certification body in the world.
Q. What else does SmartWrap do?
A. SmartWrap also does window graphics and wall murals.
Q. What are wall murals?
A. Wall murals are digitally printed images of photos, illustrations or paintings that are applied to walls at home or in the office to enhance the look and ambience.
Q. Can you produce wall murals from family photos?
A. Yes, provided the images are high resolution.
Q. Can wall murals be installed on any type of wall?
A. The smoother the wall, the better. The rougher the texture, the less likely it will stick.
Q. What are window graphics?
A. Window graphics are digitally printed images of photos, illustrations or paintings that are usually applied to glass surfaces on storefronts or in the office to advertise a product or service or simply the name of a business.
Q. Are window graphics transparent?
A. Window graphics can be printed either on solid vinyl, which you cannot see through or on perforated vinyl which is see-through from the inside.
